Jose Mourinho was sacked by Chelsea, as they felt the relationship between the players and manager is beyond repair and that enough time has been given to turn this woeful season. But his 2 stint at Stamford Bridge wasn’t all down; there were matches which showcased the intelligence and tactical superiority of Mourinho. We at ES have decided to list the ten best matches the Blues played under him in his 2 stint.

Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspurs 1 March, 2015

1 match in March won the Blues a football league cup trophy, 5 overall, Jose’s first trophy on his return and 3 overall; with Costa and Captain Terry both scoring a goal each. Zouma replaced suspended a Matic in defensive midfield and Cech replaced Courtois in goal.

Burnley vs Chelsea. 18 August, 2014.

1 match of 2014-2015 season and 1 glimpses at new signing Fabregas and Costa at Turf Moor where Chelsea went on to win 1-3. And a great display by Mou’s side of their attacking style of play and an instant effect of Costa and Fabregas, as Costa scored his first of many goals to come. Fabregas starred with a sublime pass to Schurrle which lead to another goal.

Everton vs Chelsea. 30 August, 2014.

It was the 3 BPL match and a nine goal thriller at Goodison Park as Chelsea went on to win 3-6, with Diego Costa scoring a brace. 5 goals were scored in space of 10 minutes and likes of Costa (2), Ivanovic, Mirallas, Coleman, Naismith, Matic, Eto’o and Ramires were all on the scorecard. An early game of the season contender from Everton and Chelsea.

Schalke 04 vs Chelsea. 25 November, 2014.

A Champions’ League group stage match and a chance to secure the qualification for the second round and the Blues took the opportunity with both hands, hammering 5 goals past Schakle 04 at Veltines-Arena.

Chelsea vs Maribor. 21st October, 2014

Another match full of goals where Mou’s side went on to score six.  Remy, Drogba, Terry and Hazard were all on the score sheet. This victory meant they were top of the table in group stage and all set to qualify for next round.

Chelsea vs Stoke City. 22 December, 2014

Beating Stoke City at Britannia Stadium is a difficult job even for the big teams. The Blues rose to the occasion and goals from Terry and Fabregas secured the game for the Blues.

Swansea city vs Chelsea. 17 January, 2015

The Portuguese’s manager recorded his biggest ever Premier League away victory as the Blues demolished Swansea City 0-5 at Liberty Stadium, with a brace each from Oscar and Costa and a goal by Schurrle.

Chelsea vs Man Utd. 18 April, 2015.

Another top table clash and where a win for the Blues would guarantee the first position till the end of April. Hazard scored the only goal of the match and despite 70 % of possession, Man Utd hardly managed to trouble Courtois. It was a great tactical match which again proved that Mourinho was a specialist in tactics

Man City v Chelsea. 21 September, 2014.

The Blues had an amazing opportunity to get the lead on the reigning Champions and it looked certain for Blues to win 3 points when their Legend, Lampard scored the equalizer for Man City. It was a thrilling top table encounter to watch.

Coming into this game Chelsea were unbeaten and with another dominating performance at Stamford Bridge, Mourinho’s men secured all 3 points. This was mainly courtesy of Costa and Hazard, scoring a goal each to stay 7 clear at the top.
