Unified World Heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and WBC champion Tyson Fury have been hinting a possible matchup for a while.

However, the matchup is far from materializing and both the champions have accused each other of ducking the contest. Fury (30-0) will defend his title against Deontay Wilder in an epic trilogy.

In the meantime, Joshua will also defend his belts against Kubrat Pulev. After that, the heavyweight gladiators can possibly face off. That said, Joshua has already challenged Fury in a recent interview, intensifying their tale further.

Anthony Joshua doesn’t consider Tyson Fury as a big name on his resume

Speaking with Sky Sports, Anthony Joshua has reflected his opinion on the current heavyweight scenario. As per AJ, he isn’t afraid to encounter Wilder and Fury, promising to challenge them both in the future.

“I’ll challenge Fury, I’ll challenge Wilder. These guys aren’t the biggest names that I’ve fought on my record anyway. They are just another heavyweight.”

The Brit has undoubtedly beaten some of the best boxers in the division. After vanquishing Wladimir Klitschko, Joshua broke all the barriers of stardom. While a mere setback arrived with a loss against Andy Ruiz Jr in 2019, Joshua avenged the loss in an epic rematch.

Since turning pro, Anthony Joshua has shaped his career rapidly. Right now he is the 2x World Heavyweight champion, flexing his activeness over his contemporaries.

“I came up quick. That shows I’m ready. These boys turned professional in 2008 and it took [Fury seven years] to fight for the heavyweight championship of the world,” said Joshua.

Taking about it AJ said, “I haven’t got fear of Fury – whether he’s got a better chin than me, a better jab than me, whether he’s all of this stuff that people say. So be it. Let me go in there and prove myself. Show you who I am and what I can do.”

Fans are already excited about the contest, but it is the official procedures that can put a halt on the heavyweight thriller. That said, Fury and Joshua need to get past their upcoming rivals in Wilder and Pulev first.
