Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler Ashish Nehra after getting a hamstring injury, had been walking into a very thin line since the past few days but unfortunately on 16th May his above hunt of certainty has been put to rest as his bowling outing in the remaining encounters for SRH in this Indian Premier league T20 tournament has met the finishing line. According to the report SRH head coach Tom Moody himself took over the mantle by giving assurance of Nehra’s absence in the future matches of IPL 10. “Ashish Nehra won’t be fit for the remainder of the tournament,” Moody told media in an interaction on the eve of the IPL eliminator clash between Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders at Chinnaswamy stadium here.

During the league match against Rising Pune Supergiant on May 6 the veteran Indian pacer felt the hamstring strain which forced him to get off the field. Nehra’s absence in the eliminator against KKR on Wednesday will definitely be a costly blow for SRH especially after contemplating KKR’s devastating opening pair consisting of Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn and their high flying attacking form.

This veteran bowler has been injury prone through out the history of IPL. As per the records last year he only featured in 8 matches out of 17, while this season he played only 6 out of 14. Although this setback could be covered up to certain extents as SRH did discover a champion bowler in Mohammad Siraj, who illuminated SRH’s ray of hope to qualify for the playoffs by picking up four wickets in their must win game against Gujarat Lions.

Yuvraj Singh’s fitness has also been shaping up to its own gesture since last few days but head coach Moody’s last night revelation of the left hand Punjab batsman about his approaching fitness test in the evening had made the mystery explicit. “Yuvraj will be undergoing a fitness test this evening. We will be giving him obviously the opportunity to prove his fitness,” Moody said.

Yuvraj scoring 243 runs in 11 games this IPL, sustained an injury in his fingers against Mumbai Indians which led him miss the must win game against Gujarat Lions. The BCCI and the Indian team are also eyeing on the reports of Yuvraj’s fitness test as without the services of Yuvraj Singh both BCCI and Indian side would be facing a major vacuum in the middle order of batting line up for the imminent Champions Trophy starting from June 1.
