Popular Canadian Twitch streamer Felix “xQc” Lengyel has confirmed that he will join Luminosity Gaming as a content creator. Along with this, he will also participate in their new project to identify upcoming gaming talent.

Better known as his alias xQc, Felix is a former professional Overwatch player. He played for the Dallas Fuel in the Overwatch League for part of the inaugural season. However, the team released him after a while due to repeated controversy. Felix has also played the Overwatch World Cup for Team Canada for three successive years between 2017-2019.

Lengyel has had a troublesome professional and streaming career. His previous team, Dallas Fuel, had suspended him twice over homophobic and racist remarks. Moreover, Twitch has also banned xQc on multiple occasions for showing explicit content on streams. However, it appears that Luminosity doesn’t have a problem with his antics.

xQc Can Be an Asset for Luminosity

Esports Talk reports that xQc joined LG as a result of budget being freed up after a few of Fortnite streamers departed the organization and formed “The One Percent,” as evidenced by the recent influx in creators to the team.

This also comes as a big win for Luminosity, as they can use Felix’s Canadian origin to appoint him as the ambassador for their team Vancouver Titans. Additionally, he can also be an integral part of LG’s new ‘Rising Stars Program’. The announcement comes straight from LG, who confirmed that xQc will be participating in the new ‘Rising Stars’ talent search program to find the “next superstar gamer.”

The event would lead to Luminosity finding the best-undiscovered streamer and challenge them live on Twitch. These streamers have a shot to win a $100K Sponsorship. A combination of judges and live voting by fans will decide the winner of the event.

If Luminosity went ahead and signed xQc being fully aware of his past, they might have big plans for the streamer. Both parties are going to benefit mutually in the long run from this partnership.
