Former World Champion “Certain” of Mick Schumacher Joining F1 “Very Soon”

The performance of Formula 2 driver Mick Schumacher has been impressive over this season. After a victory from P7 at the Italian Grand Prix, he followed up with a P5 in Tuscany.
The two-time world champion Mika Hakkinen says he is “certain” that Mick will get a drive in Formula 1 soon. He also mentions the demonstration run that Mick did by driving his father’s Ferrari F2004 around Mugello.
Mika Hakkinen feels that it will only be a matter of time before Mick gets a seat in Formula 1. He also expressed his views on Mick’s career so far. “It’s great to see Mick’s career progressing well, including now leading the Formula 2 championship. And I am certain he will find a seat in Formula 1 very soon,” said Hakkinen.

Hakkinen feels that Mick’s entry into Formula 1 could be a huge moment. “It will be a special moment for him, the Schumacher family, and Formula 1 when it happens,” said the Finn.
Mick Schumacher is now leading the championship table from Callum Ilott by 8 points in Formula 2. He ended his weekend at Tuscany by scalping 18 points.
It was already speculated that Mick will get a drive in Formula 1 for next season only by considering his performance in F2. With the convincing performance he has already delivered, the fans could well see him in Formula 1 next season.

Mika Hakkinen on Mick Schumacher driving the Ferrari F2004
Mick Schumacher drove the Ferrari F2004 around the Mugello circuit as a demonstration run last weekend. The F2004 is the car with which his father, Michael Schumacher, won the 7th and his final championship title.

Mika Hakkinen adds that it was a great moment for Mick to drive his father’s F2004. “On the day when Lewis won his 90th Grand Prix, putting him only one race victory behind the record held by Michael Schumacher, it was very nice to see Mick Schumacher driving his father’s F2004 Ferrari on a demonstration run,” said Hakkinen.
