Valtteri Bottas had a rather disappointing outing during Qualifying at the Russian Grand Prix. Following the session, Bottas will start his race from P3 on the grid. An unhappy fan took to Bottas’s latest Instagram post to give an unhealthy opinion on him. Bottas gave a strong-worded response to the fan.

Bottas posted a picture on Instagram following the Qualifying session at Sochi.

Tricky day, but managed to qualify on the medium tyre compound, which I think will a good one tomorrow. 3rd on the grid is a great spot too for the long drag into the first corner, as I know from 2017. Can’t wait for the race, feel confident and optimistic. All in,” read his caption.

A user commented on Bottas’s post. “C’mon, you think at this point anyone will believe you’re there to win? You will be a good boy and do what they tell you and let Lulu take the win as always,” his comment read.

The comment may have triggered Bottas as it questioned his over-loyalty to the team and his Championship rival. Bottas did not resist from giving the user a fitting response.

Don’t care what you believe, mate. I believe. If I had your mindset, I wouldn’t have never had a chance in my career, never. Won’t give up!” his response read.

Bottas has suffered a disappointing run in this season by playing only second fiddle to Lewis Hamilton. Though his start to the season was commanding, it somehow faded away as the season progressed.

Can Valtteri Bottas take the fight to Lewis Hamilton at Sochi?

via Reuters

Valtteri may have ended up in 3rd in qualifying. But considering the long straight to Turn 2, it is going to be nothing but a drag race. Bottas will get the tow from Lewis as he has lined up right behind him on the grid.

During the press conference, he did not seem worried about starting from P3. “Yeah, I remember once I started third here and I know what happened then. So for sure I will try to do the same and I really think I will have an advantage with the Medium tire in the first stint, so still all to play for,” said Bottas.

It is not going to be an easy task for the drivers at the front row to hold their positions before turn 2. Bottas has the perfect opportunity to beat his teammate. And keeping his tire advantage over Lewis in mind, it only gets better.
