Sebastian Vettel Open To Participating In Spec Car Racing Events

Amidst the Formula 1 racing action, something new would always be appreciated. Sebastian Vettel, for example, welcomes the idea of participating in a spec race.
A spec race is an event where all participating drivers race in the same car. Back in 1984, the “Nurburgring Race Of Champions” had hosted greats such as Niki Lauda and Ayrton Senna. With all of them driving the Mercedes 190E, it was quite a unique and special event.
The weeks between the races could prove the perfect opportunity to test out a similar concept. It could be a spectacle that raises the commercial value of the sport. Moreover, it’ll also give fans additional opportunities to see their favorite stars in action.

Sebastian Vettel however believes ‘those days are gone’
Despite the feasibility and competitiveness of the idea, the event might not be something all F1 drivers would be up for. And that is what Sebastian Vettel particularly emphasizes on.
Speaking in an interview, Vettel stated, “I think it would be fun. This is a long time ago, but nowadays, we are doing so many F1 races. But it would be nice to do other races as well in other cars.”
