As anticipated, star Center, Marc Gasol has rejoined  the Memphis Grizzies in a 5 year deal worth $110. The 30 year old averaged at 14.1 points, 8 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game last season and was an integral part of the Grizzlies team which reached the Conference semifinals and almost upset the fancied Golden State Warriors. The Grizzlies will be very pleased with this development, as Gasol had a fantastic 2014-15 season where he was an all star and was in the All Nba first team. The former Nba defensive player of the year, is one of the few centres who has good post moves and can shoot a jumper from mid range. He was drafted as the 48th overall pick in the 2008 nba draft by the Los Angeles Lakers and immediately traded to Memphis in a deal which resulted in the Lakers appointing his brother Pau Gasol. He had a great rookie season and has steadily been on the rise since then. He forges a great partnership on and off the field with veteran teammate Zach Randolph. Their chemistry was perhaps the most important part of the Grizzlies team last year and many believe that if not for the injury to guard Mike Conley, Grizzlies would have ended up upsetting the Golden State Warriors. After retaining the core team again this year, they will be eager to go beyond the Conference semifinals this year and they have a fairly good chance of achieving that feat.
