John Daly Once Revealed His Crazy McDonald’s Obsession and His Struggles With Eating Disorder

As is well known, John Daly is popularly known as “the wild thing”. Daly’s lifestyle has probably justified his nickname over the years. Daly is known for getting all his coaches concerned over his habits. Golfers are usually expected to be more on the disciplined side.


Daly defies the general norms. But his defying of the ordinary is also affecting his health and overall well-being.

Long John has an unexplainable love for McDonald’s. His fans are probably aware of his liking for the fast food joint. However, Daly’s strong admiration for the food hub is rather peculiar to some.

McDonald’s sees the wild thing throughout the week. His usual order is two double-cheeseburgers, large fries, and a large diet soda. Usually, he doesn’t have a very good relationship with vegetables and sticks to calling condiments vegetables. Lately, he has been told several times to maintain a healthy diet.

John Daly stated, “I’ve heard the winner of The Masters hosts the dinner. If I ever won, it’d be no suits, no ties and it would be McDonald’s.”

Daly and his eating habits

Take it as an unhealthy obsession or a genuine liking and appreciation, as you may. Daly has been trying to cope with his drinking problem. He has also been making changes in his lifestyle and has been on a diet. But the same diet that was recommended to him has become evil for his overall well-being.

Daly has said that he came close to being anorexic once. Apparently, he was obsessed with keeping his weight down. So much so that he started smoking and went on a very harsh diet.

Making lifestyle changes is a slow and steady process. Consistency is probably the key. When we take things to the extreme, they might hamper our life in ways more than one.

Consequently, he was hospitalized. He said, “I came close to being anorexic. I couldn`t eat. I didn`t feel like it. I didn`t want to get fat again.”
