Serbian star Novak Djokovic conducted the Adria Tour which had some negative effects on the players that took part in it. Players like Grigor Dimitrov and Borna Coric tested positive for the coronavirus. People have blamed Novak for this because he conducted the event and did not follow social distancing guidelines. In a recent interview with the L’Equipe, Richard Gasquet talked about what happened at the Adria Tour. He said that he was not surprised when he heard about the cases as people were not taking precautions. But he believes that a few cases will not stop the event from continuing.
Since many people were blaming Novak Djokovic for the cases, Richard was asked whether he thinks the same. To this, he replied by saying,

“Djokovic is not the culprit. It was not he who put a gun on the guys’ temples to demand that there be 5,000 spectators. It was the government that chose to accommodate these 5,000 people in one place. But it is sure that all these people were delusional, it was the only place in the world where we saw an audience like that.”

Many players played the event but not all of them have tested positive for the coronavirus. Alexander Zverev recently reported that he tested negative for the virus but he apologized to the people for potentially putting them at risk by playing the event.

Djokovic is supposed to undergo the test very soon. He is at a greater risk now as his fitness coach has also tested positive for the coronavirus which is definitely not good news.
Everyone is definitely going to be hoping that he will test negative. And they will also be hoping that everyone who has tested positive will recover very soon so that we can see them play the ATP Tour when it returns in August.
