The IPL auction of 2015 was full of unanticipated surprises this time. In all 88 players went under hammer, of which the franchises bought 67. 23 of the players sold were overseas picks. The franchises shelled out Rs 87.6 crore in purchasing the players.

The showstopper was Yuvraj Singh who continued to be the million dollar baby. After being released by Royal Challengers Bangalore, the left handed superstar was taken up by Delhi Daredevils for a whooping 16 Crores after an unexpected bidding war among four teams who were vying for him. An unheralded KC Cariappa, an off spinner who has never even played a first class game, stunned one and all after being picked by KKR for Rs 2.4 Crores in what was perhaps the most shocking buy in the entire IPL auction.

Indian pacer Zaheer Khan, who initially went unsold, witnessed a dramatic change in his fortunes when he was brought back in the pool as he bagged a hefty Rs 4 Crores from the Delhi Daredevils.
