Manchester City’s defeat at the hands of their local rivals was further compounded by injuries to both Raheem Sterling and Joe Hart. According to Pellegrini the England duo will face three to four weeks out with a groin and calf injury respectively. The timing could not have been worse for Manchester City who are already without Vincent Kompany and Otamendi who got injured during their Champions League clashmid-week.

The absence of their two center backs already hurt City as it was a poor piece of defending from Demichelis that allowed Rashford to go past him before slotting home the winner on Sunday night and with United and West Ham tight on their trails, Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping the rest of the team steps up and guarantees them the Champions League spot.
