Manchester City have shortlisted Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling as their priority this summer and are desperate to seal the deal quickly.

Manchester City are aware that Sterling wants to move out of Merseyside club, and are ready to open their “banks” to sign the wideman.

The 20-year old Englishman has just two years remaining in his contract and has made it clear that he wants to move out of Liverpool despite several attempts from Liverpool and manager Brendan Rodgers to make him stay for at-least another season. But Sterling’s agent has made it clear that a new contract is out of the question.

The 20-year old is highly regarded and is considered to be one of best young talents in the market. Sterling had formed a wonderful partnership with Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge in Liverpool’s fantastic 2013-14 season but has had a salt-pepper season this time around.

Manchester City are desperate for resurgence and some energy in their squad after a disappointing season. With James Milner already signing for Liverpool, Raheem Sterling seems like an obvious choice considering City are trying to get more home-grown talent into the side.  The club owners are aware that they may have to spend more than £40m to sign Sterling.
