Mahendra Singh Dhoni will not leave Australia before the Sydney Test as per the earlier reports.

Team Director Ravi Shastri has told news channel NDTV that Dhoni will be in Australia but not with the team. He also said that Dhoni will be on standby for the SCG test.

It comes as a surprise that MS Dhoni who announced his retirement after the completion of boxing day test in Melbourne, is on standby. Reports say that this could be because of shortage of time in sending Dhoni’s replacement for the 4th Test.
