The world number one Novak Djokovic, started his 2019 campaign with a clinical victory over youngster Karen Khachanov at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship. The Serb triumphed in ruthless fashion with a straight forward 6-4, 6-2 victory. Djokovic has stamped his authority on the ATP singles rankings with a dominating display of tennis in the second half of 2018.

This victory is proof that Djokovic will be the man to beat in 2019, and its a clear statement that Djokovic is looking to make, with the days leading up-to the Australian Open. Despite a disappointing loss at the ATP World Tour Finals, against the rising German youngster Alexznder Zverev, Novak Djokovic has been in a scary form of late and will be the hot favorite to win the Australian Open title.

The world number one, looked like he never left the court for an off-season. He looked in control from the word get-go. Hitting precision strokes with measured intensity and pin-point accuracy, Djokovic dominated the majority of rallies. Khachanov had no answers for Nole’s accurate ground-strokes. The second set was even more one-sided than the first, as he avenged his loss(Paris Masters) against the youngster.
Djokovic broke his opponent four times would have asked for nothing more in the first match since the off-season. He will face the South African Kevin Anderson in the finals. He will be the quite obvious favorite, against the six foot plus giant, who ousted Rafael Nadal in three. Djokovic will move on to Doha after this, as he looks to get some wins under his belt, as he heads into the Australian summer later next month.
