Roger Federer and Stefan Edberg got together with Wilson to discuss the racquets that they have used in their careers and the legacy of Wilson’s tennis racquets. Edberg, Federer, and even Pete Sampras have had their own customized versions of Wilson’s Pro Staff.

In the interview, Edberg revealed that he kept his racquets from his playing days as his trophies. Notably, Edberg has the racquet from his first Wimbledon title in 1988.

“I don’t have any trophies or anything or even not racquets but I do keep them at home. When I won my first Wimbledon for instance, I keep that at home and I haven’t played a shot. I keep some trophies and, you know, the racquets that I hit the match points with, those are my trophies.” Edberg said.

Federer also agreed with Edberg in keeping the racquets he has used in his famous victories like in Wimbledon and French Open. The Swiss maestro started preserving his racquets as souvenirs after his Grand Slam victories.

“Same for me, I mean I’ve kept a lot of the racquets. I didn’t keep that much in the early days because I was just, like, well it’s theirs, hopefully many much more to play for. We’ll see what happens. But then if you look back, the oldest stuff is always in a way the best stuff or from the most important moments.

“Like Stefan said, like a Wimbledon win, or for the French Open win or whatever it may have been, but I definitely start keeping stuff ever since I started winning grand slams and I kept a lot of racquets,” Federer said.

In his career, Edberg predominantly used the Wilson Pro Staff 85. Federer, on the other hand, used the Wilson Pro Staff 90 for a long time. But since the 2014 season, he has been using the Wilson Pro Staff RF97 Autograph. The Swiss master has been making cosmetic changes to his Pro Staff racquet with different colors and designs.
