Rogue Company is a free to play multiplayer third-person shooter. It’s been developed by First Watch Games and published by Hi-Rez Studios. The game will be released this year for Windows and will be available on the Epic Games store. The first impression of the game makes it look pretty familiar to the games you may have already played. You dive into a map, buy weapons after completing objectives, and play different characters, referred to as Rogues. Its a mix of games like Counter-Strike, Valorant, and Warzone.

Let’s find out what it’s all about.

Rogue Company: A Valorant spinoff?

The game has a third-person shooting impression but imitates both Valorant and CS:GO. Before you start the game, you select from a set number of agents. These agents have special abilities and skills that are distinct. Also, each agent has a set loadout, which is different from the other. That basically means that not every agent will have the ability to use a sniper or an SMG.

It combines the elements of gliding into a map, respawning, and also having the ability to revive your teammates.

It is fast-paced than most of its competitors, though. Rogue Company has a better movement mechanism, supplemented with a dodge rollover. If you think you are being cornered, the dodge rollover comes in handy. It is a neat trick. The rounds get over in a jiffy if you play on your enemies terms. The key is to have better positioning and to be able to maneuver and improvise.

‘Rogues’ to Choose From

There are plenty of agents to choose from and like Valorant, each agent has a set of unique abilities.

  • Duelists
    • Scorch
    • Ronin
    • Lancer
    • Chaac
  • Intel
    • Talon
    • Dallas
  • Initiator
    • Dima
    • Gl1tch
  • Defender
    • Trench
    • Vy
    • Anvil
  • Sniper
    • Phantom
  • Support
    • Saint

Each agent has a choice of two primary weapons. But wait, there’s a catch. The choice of weapons is unique for each agent. For instance, only Phantom will have the option of choosing a sniper rifle. Most rogues have a choice between SMG and shotguns as primary weapons. Lancer has an ability to be able to silence his footsteps, making it difficult for the enemies to spot him.

Game Modes

A few game modes have been put forward that are basically an amalgamation of modes from Valorant, CS, and Warzone. Each game mode has a distinct objective and completing tasks and eliminating enemies is the only way to earn money, upgrade weapons, and unlock new features.

Extraction is a mode which consists of an objective. The winner of the round is decided when the objective is completed or when all the enemies have been wiped out. This is a 4v4 mode. In Strikeout mode, you respawn, however, each time has a limited number of respawns in each round.

Demolition is like CS, a bomb has to be planted and the other time has to defuse it within a given time frame. These modes are 4v4 while wingman as the name suggests is 2v2.

DrDisrespect is probably one of the most intriguing personalities in the Esports industry. He is known for the charisma he brings in his videos and also his dry sense of humor. It seems like Doc is a fan of the game already. He shared an update on Twitter, claiming that he liked the game and would want to design a map.

Rogue Company can be considered a spinoff. It has brought together features of other prominent games and mingled them together with a twist of its own. The game will be cross-platform in order to rake it up a bit. Who knows, it might end up becoming the next big thing!
