A step in the right direction for Nigeria Women’s Cricket

The Nigeria Cricket Federation has newly appointed Musa Cyril and Tony Ajaelu for coaching the national women’s cricket team for an invitational tournament in Tanzania.

This appointment could be seen as a step in the right direction for Nigeria Cricket and for the country’s participation in the tournament which is being held from August 18 to August 24, the Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) said in a statement, reported Xinhua. According to the statement given, Cyril will be in charge of the team while Ajaelu will assist Cyril.

The coaches have previously served in various capacities which facilitated their appointment for the task ahead, it was added.
The body also revealed, that it has selected 15 players for the tournament after the 2 week camp held for team preparation.

According to NCF the team will depart on August 16 for the tournament, which sees participation from Nigeria, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.

Musa Cyril has played cricket in his schooling years and has led his team to victories in a lot of tournaments. He has also attended several cricket programs, tests and seminars in his state, NCF and ICC/ACA programs such as ICC level 1 and 2 coaching courses, ICC/ACA cap courses module 1 to 4, and the Edo State Coaches Seminar.
