Gambhir’s comeback: Twitter Roundup

Indian opening batsmen Gautam Gambhir replaces injured KL Rahul for the remaining part of the New Zealand series. Gambhir returned to the Test team after sitting out for two years, last making an apperance in 2014 on the ill fated tour to England. He scored a total of 25 runs on that tour  from four innings, as India went from a 1-0 lead to losing the five-match series 3-1. That series, too, was a comeback for him, as he was dropped in 2012 and missed all India’s Tests in 2013 due to a sharp decline in form.

Gambhir’s comeback has come about on the basis of his performance in the Duleep Trophy where he scored 356 runs at an average of 71.20. As Gambhir made it back to the team, this is how the twitter world reacted :
