Jackie Chan has had many tough experiences in his life, but bridging the age gap would surely be one of the toughest. The martial art champion has lived his life with utmost discipline and dedication. However, his son Jaycee Chan grew up in a much different environment as he went to America for his studies. The father-son duo had opposite opinions and habits. Senior Chan once opened up about some of the unusual habits that junior Chan possesses. 

In 2012, Jackie Chan appeared in an interview on the Strombo YouTube channel. The martial arts champion made some hilarious revelations about his son. 

Jackie Chan revealed the careless attitude of his son

The champion martial artist recalled his days of growing up in a very strict environment. He said that the teachers during his time were very strict and focused on inducting discipline in tough ways. However, the Western culture was totally different and very lenient. Chan emphasized that nowadays parents can’t even hit their children. “This day you hit (and the child says) I sue you”, he said in the interview. 

Chan further added that this leniency has led to the development of a careless attitude in the upcoming generation. He substantiated this statement with an example of him and his son. The veteran actor said that he keeps all his stuff in their respective places. However, his son can’t even put his shoes together. “I have never seen his shoes put together, one on the floor, other in the dining room.”, he revealed in the interview.

The master of skills further added that since Jaycee is born with certain privileges, he doesn’t realize certain values. Chan said, “He keeps running in white shoes because he doesn’t have to wash them.” The action superstar also added that the western culture has changed his ways of sitting and talking to people. The comic expert’s explanations made the audience split in laughter. 

Chan took some strict measures

After seeing such habits in his son, Chan decided not to compromise any further and adopted some strict ways to teach lessons. Jackie Chan recalled the time in his biography when he split the electric wiring of the house. Jaycee used to keep electrical appliances on, even when he wasn’t using them. 

Initially, senior Chan advised him to take care of these habits, but in the end, he took this decision after seeing continuous negligence from his son. He finally asked him to pay for his part of the house, as he wasn’t listening.
