Sonya Deville Reveals Possible Reasons for Her WWE Departure

Sonya Deville is one of the most promising WWE female superstars of this era. However, at WWE SummerSlam 2020, Sonya lost a “loser leaves WWE match” against Mandy Rose.

WWE did not give an official statement after Sonya’s “departure.” However, Sonya shared a “This is goodbye” post on her Instagram. She is still listed as a WWE employee.

Although never specified, many believe this “departure” is nothing but a break before a much bigger return. Many argued she is taking a break from everything due to a recent assault on her. You can read about the probable reasons here.

Although, Sonya is yet to give out any statement regarding her “leave,” she recently posted an Instagram update. She gave a hint about why she left WWE in a recent post.

Sonya Deville Hints At Reasons For WWE Departure

In the recent beach post, Deville emphasized how she aims to build her own legacy. She does not want to play by others’ standards. The former MMA fighter said, “….money and fame is smoke and mirrors but I’m not lookin in the rear view mirror. Weather I’m sittin there or up here everyone looks the same, but that doesn’t mean I have to play the same game.”

Deville may have hinted that she will be back to “reinvent, dedicate, and attract the same. Settling for less just ain’t in my game. You wanna be with me ya gotta carry the name.”

After her debut in WWE, Sonya Deville competed mostly in a tag team. She was a competitor in WWE Tough Enough. She then competed in NXT for two years. Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose, alongside Paige, formed a trio called “Absolution”. Rose and Deville then went on to form “Fire and Desire.”

The tag-team feuded against the likes of Bayley and Sasha Banks, the IIconics, and the Kabuki Warriors. However, the duo broke up during WrestleMania. Their feud ended with Deville leaving WWE after SummerSlam.

Hopefully, Sonya’s departure is not permanent and she will be back in the squared circle soon.
