Pakistan And England: A battle of unequals yet equals

The battle between England and Pakistan turned out to be a battle of equals, though till the third test it looked far from it. Some highlights from the last test are-

Pakistan completed a 10-wicket win in the final Test at The Oval , London to square the series 2-2. Yasir Shah finished with a five-wicket haul as England were bowled out for 253 after lunch. Chasing just 40 runs to win the game, it was a cakewalk for the Pakistani batsmen.

Yasir Shah got the  better of English side’s mainstay Joe Root on the third day and this proved to be a decisive blow for England . He also got rid of the in form Moeen Ali at the score of 32 and ended the hopes of the English side to script a turnaround. The home crowd  perhaps anticipated a spirited fight but was left dejected when Woakes and Bairstow were dismissed off consecutive deliveries and England were still trailing by five.

Though England managed to end the deficit , still they could manage to set a target of a paltry 42 runs which was easily chaseable by the Pakistan side.
