After a 4 week break, F1 returned for Round 13 at the Belgian Grand Prix. The first news was Lewis Hamilton starting from the back of the grid as he took new engine components. Unsurprisngly, Nico was on pole. The first lap was marked with heavy drama, with Vettel, Raikkonen and Max all colliding at turn 1. The Red Bull got away lightly as the two Ferrar’s dropped down the order.
Button and Weherlein suffered damage and retired. Carlos Sainz retired after a puncture. On Lap 5, Kevin Magnussen lost control on the main straight, and collided heavily into the barriers, bring out the safety car. The race would be red flagged at Lap 10.
This allowed Lewis and Fernando, who started last, to reach 4th adn 5th. After the restart, it was a comfortable race for Nico Rosberg who led Daniel Riccardio into the finish as he held up a charging Lewis Hamilton who finished off the podium.
Despite the early drama, Vettel finished 6th and Raikkonen 9th.
