Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper-batsman of India has been in the news – be it his poor form with the bat or whether he can be a successful replacement after former India captain MS Dhoni. After having performed brilliantly in England And Australia, everyone had expected that Rishabh Pant is going to be around for a long time.

However, things went wrong for the youngster, as he is failed to perform on a consistent basis. Earlier he was expected to replace MS Dhoni across the formats, but his recent form has raised the question of his presence.

KL Rahul is the familiar face of Indian circuit across formats. Being an opener, he has played in the middle order as well. Although he is an opener, he is a wicketkeeper as well. He has been doing a great job in the Indian Premier League and has the ability to don the gloves in the national team as well.

In MS Dhoni’s absence and Rishabh Pant’s poor form, KL Rahul can fill in the place so that India can accommodate an extra batsman in the playing XI. Even he has been doing well with the bat so his ability to accumulate runs at crucial junctures will also be beneficial for the team as well.

Sanju Samson has been in the limelight for the last couple of years. He is the familiar face in the India A as well as every domestic circuit. He made his IPL debut in 2013 but overlooked many times for the national selection. However, he recently earned his maiden T20 call up on the back of a blistering domestic season. He scored 441 runs in IPL 2018 edition. Even not only as a batsman, but he is also a good wicket-keeper as well.

He has a couple of records in his name. He was the youngest batsman to score 1000 runs in the IPL and also the youngest cricketer to captain a team in the Ranji trophy with Kerala. He recently performed pretty well for India A. Samson is one of the young talents in the country and can be India’s long term solution for the wicket-keeper batsman slot.

This youngster, Ishan Kishan is the other cricketer who can certainly replace Rishabh Pant in the Indian team if given opportunity. The constant player of the domestic circuit has the ability to anchor the innings. The left-hander has already shown his ability under pressure.

Kishan was a part of the India A team in the recently concluded series against South Africa A at home. He made useful contributions and came in the limelight of the selectors as well. He led India in the Under 19 World Cup in 2016 and he plays for Mumbai Indians in IPL as well. The Ranchi lad who captains Jharkhand in the domestic circuit has been expected to have a bright future in international cricket. He is even seen as one of the potential replacements of veteran MS Dhoni as well as Rishabh Pant in the playing XI.
