The Australian Open is already past its one week mark and it has witnessed some stunning finishes as well as some unprecedented upsets. The big fish are through to the second week and it’s time to check how they have fared.
The No.1 seed is through to the quarter-finals and is up against the 7th seed Kei Nishikori. So far he has beaten H. Chung, Q. Halys and A. Seppi in straight sets, serving well and playing strong. But in the fourth round against France’s Gilles Simon, Djokovic was pushed to the limits as he prevailed in a tight and exhausting 5 set, though making a staggering 100 unforced errors. This figure is most definitely of concern and should be taken care of by coach Boris Becker hopefully.
