AEW has finally announced its lineup for the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite on September 16. The NWA World Women’s Championship title match between Thunder Rosa and Ivelisse will headline this card.

Thunder Rosa defeated Allysin Kay at NWA Hard Times to acquire the belt. However, now that NWA is not functioning due to the pandemic, the pro wrestlers under contract have been encouraged to take bookings outside NWA.

Thunder Rosa is about to make history at AEW Dynamite

The first time that she appeared on AEW at All Out, the two companies worked it out to foster a healthy relationship. Of course, it is working out in her favor since she gets to showcase her talents to a crowd outside NWA.

“Well, I was contacted by AEW first, and then they asked me about my dates. I can’t work any other place because I’m signed with NWA. So, I went to the chain of command. They worked it out, and I honestly wasn’t expecting it, until I got a text message and then I kind of figure it out. And then I got the phone call, and then they’re like, ‘you’re going to be at All Out.’”

Rosa was going up against Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s title at All Out. Unfortunately, all of her lethal moves and submission maneuvers failed against a relentless Shida.

Therefore, she is getting a second chance to prove herself in the AEW ring.

Thunder Rosa will look to prove herself

Now that she is returning to the arena once again, expectations are that she will bounce back after dropping the chance to win the AEW title. However, for this match, it’s her NWA title on the line. This will be the first time that the NWA Women’s Championship will be on the line when the opponent is from another company altogether.

As a result, she knows that this match will go down as one of the significant moments in women’s wrestling.

I don’t think in the history of the NWA another woman has gone to another company to fight another champion. So, it’s a precedent, and I’m all about that. I’m all about making history, making a difference in the business, and I continue to do it either by luck or just see it happen.”

It’s not yet known how the companies are going to proceed if Ivelisse beats Thunder Rosa at AEW Dynamite.
