Without breaking kayfabe, which is losing its effectiveness day by day, Kingston can get any match, wrestler or inanimate object over with his promos. On Being the Elite, Eddie starred in segments where he cut promos on inanimate objects, from Oreos to Sour Patch Kids.

If there’s any wrestler who can go toe-to-toe with CM Punk in a promo battle, it’s Eddie Kingston. It isn’t a complete surprise Punk chose him ahead of Roman Reigns, Edge, Randy Orton, Paul Heyman and even AEW’s MJF or Chris Jericho.

Cutting Punk like promos in AEW isn’t Kingston’s only role. Since his debut in July 2020, Kingston has been one of AEW’s most consistent performers. Although he isn’t the most athletic or aesthetic performer, his matches have a layer of realism to them.

In his debut match, he went toe-to-toe with Cody Rhodes in a TNT Championship classic. Even though he lost, Kingston impressed mainstream viewers who wanted to see more of him in AEW. Within a matter of months, AEW thrust him into a main event feud with Jon Moxley.

After attempting to rescue Moxley from blowing up after the Revolution PPV, Kingston and his former rival are set to take on the tag team division in AEW.
