There was a lot of controversy surrounding the match between Matt Hardy and Sammy Guevara at AEW All Out, which aired just a few minutes ago. There’s no excuse for what just happened, and a lot of fans were taken aback by the event.

A few minutes into the match, Matt Hardy was taken down by Sammy Guevara from an elevated platform through the table. However, the landing was a total screamer.

Matt Hardy, back facing the floor, had his head land straight on the hard concrete! Although Guevara went through the table, Hardy wasn’t quite as fortunate.

After the devastating fall, Hardy couldn’t get back up. Referee Aubrey Edwards began counting, but Hardy seemed like he was totally out of it.

As we looked on, we realized that things were not ok. The former WWE Tag Team champion was phased and was clearly damaged. Sammy Guevara realized this too and played along as the medical staff came to check on Hardy.

The match was called off soon enough, but Hardy insisted on continuing.  This was probably due to the fact that his career was on the line.

Matt Hardy continued the fight despite the head injury

Accepting the fight from the beaten man, Guevara returned and took the fight to Hardy once more. However, it was clear to see that the match was over. Hardy was more or less dead weight.

In the end, Guevara and Hardy got to the heights once again, and the climax of the fight ensued. After a brief struggle, Hardy managed to push off his foe, who fell straight through the stage, in a huge crash.

Guevara didn’t get up after that one and was done. Matt Hardy was victorious, but he was absolutely finished. There was definitely some horrific concussion that he was holding in.

While I appreciate Matt Hardy’s determination to finish off the match for fans, I don’t think he should have continued the fight. I was even more surprised when he decided to take things to the height again.

If in his condition, he missed a step and fell again, the damage could be fatal. This came just a week after his head got busted open by a chair!

We still await further news on Hardy’s condition but we’re definitely looking at some bad head injury.

Word is that the match was ended quickly after the fall, and what we got to see in the end was supposed to take place later.

Hardy really must take care of himself after this incident. Injuries like this one are hard to shake off, and he really shouldn’t be looking at going out the hero’s way.
