Hardly a few days after wide receiver Antonio Brown posted on twitter that he “will not be playing” in NFL anymore, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus claimed that his client may not be done with football with teams still interested to sign him.

“I believe that Antonio wants to continue his career in the NFL,” Rosenhaus was quoted as saying on 99 Problems podcast.

“I have had discussions with a few teams that are very interested in him and want to know about his future and what’s going on with the NFL. Hopefully, when that is all resolved, Antonio will be able to continue his Hall of Fame career.”

Brown, who was considered to be one of the brightest talents in NFL, has had a rather controversial last few months- forcing out of the Oakland Raiders team without playing a single game and then being released by New England Patriots after playing just one game for the club in his 11 days stay.

“It’s a very difficult time for him, not playing,” his agent said of Brown. “We expected him to be playing against the Jets on Sunday, so it’s tough for someone who loves the game not to be playing right now, and the hope is that we’ll cooperate with the NFL in its investigation and get him back with a team to continue this tremendous career he’s had.”

“It’s my hope, it’s Antonio’s hope, that he’ll be back playing as soon as possible.”

Brown’s recent announcement on social media that he was enrolling at Central Michigan, a college which he attended for three years before leaving for the NFL, sparked a rumour of him leaving football. But his agent clarified that attending college is something he always recommends his players to do.

“I know there’s been a lot of speculation as to whether or not that means he’s not going to proceed with the NFL,” the agent said, “but taking online college courses to get your degree or your post-graduate degree is something that I would recommend to every client. … I wouldn’t read too much into that.”

According to NFL, the investigation is “ongoing and will be pursued vigorously and expeditiously,” which might be the reason that teams might hesitate to approach him.
