Alexander Zverev and Victoria Azarenka to Play World Tennis Challenge

Alexander Zverev and Victoria Azarenka have signed up to play for the World Tennis Challenge in January. Alexander Zverev and Azarenka will join 1988 French Open runner-up Henri Leconte in the Team Leconte, while youngster Borna Coric and USA’s Coco Vandeweghe will team up with Australian tennis legend Pat Cash in Team Cash.

“I’m thrilled to join the field for the World Tennis Challenge in January,” Victoria Azarenka said, in an interview for the tournament’s website.“This will be my first time visiting Adelaide so I am looking forward to exploring the city and meeting all of the tennis fans too”, Aazrenka added. Nitto ATP World Tour Finals champion, Alexander Zverev is ready to battle against fellow rising star Borna Coric at the Memorial Drive in Adelaide.
“(It’s) great to be a part of the World Tennis Challenge in January,” Alexander Zverev said. “Borna(Coric) has been in great form lately and I am looking forward to taking to the court against him in Adelaide.” 1987 Wimbledon champion Cash played a role in pulling his student Coco Vandeweghe to Adelaide.

 

“My coach Pat Cash has told me about the enthusiastic crowd at the World Tennis Challenge and I can’t wait to be a part of it,” Coco Vandeweghe revealed, in her interview. The two teams will face off against each other at Memorial Drive in Adelaide from 7-8 January.

“We’re excited to host two-time Grand Slam champion Victoria Azarenka, world No.4 Alexander Zverev, world No.12 Borna Coric and US Open doubles champion CoCo Vandeweghe next year,” World Tennis Challenge General Manager David Hearne said. “It’s fantastic to welcome a group of new players to South Australia alongside Pat Cash and Henri Leconte. Local fans can see these tennis stars in action from just $6 for kids and $31 for adults, making it a fun and affordable evening out during the summer”, he added
