Soon after the new year, Alfa Romeo partnered with PKN Orlen as the title sponsor. As a bonus, the Swiss outfit recruited Robert Kubica as a reserve and development driver. Now, the latest news says that Kubica’s duties for the 2020 season have been outlined.
Out of the 22 Grand Prix weekends, the Polish driver will get behind the wheel on five Friday practice sessions for Alfa Romeo. When not performing reserve driver duties, the Pole is expected to race in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters in 2020 with BMW.
Polish newspaper Przeglad Sportowy broke the news of the five practice session outings. According to them, the 35-year-old is set to perform a day of winter testing in Alfa Romeo’s 2020 car in February.

While all this is going on, Kubica has had a seat fitting at the team’s Hinwil factory. Truthfully, he needs this time to relax after the stressful season at Williams F1.
Speaking to Motorsport-Total, he said, “At Williams, we thought it couldn’t get any worse than the previous year, so you can never say that it can’t get any worse. I am at least hoping for an easier life now.”

How will life be for Robert Kubica at Alfa Romeo
When he spoke to fans on the team’s social media channels, he confirmed the seat fitting. At the same time, he also admitted that he was glad to be “coming home”.

Back in 2006, he made his Formula One debut for BMW Sauber, so he is back in familiar territory. Robert Kubica also confessed that he was excited to test the 2020 car when it finally rolls out of the factory.
