He was just 14 matches old in tennis when as a 17-year-old he dismissed the Spaniard,  Rafael Nadal. The Croatian tennis lad, Borna Coric wouldn’t have been successful in keeping up his previous year’s glory at the Indian Wells this year. Last year, he remarked his presence in the first ATP Masters 1000 semifinal where played against the Swiss legend, Roger Federer and lost in three tight sets in the Tennis Paradise.

This year, the 22-year-old Borna Coric was halted to progress further into the desert tournament by his countryman, Ivo Karlovic in the round-of-64. He began the season with a World Number 12 ranking and he was oscillating between 12 and 13 till date, but next week onwards he will be descending on the ATP ladder.

Borna Coric began his 2018 season with a revamped team, and he had appointed Riccardo Piatti and Kristijan Schneider as his mentors. Schneider and Borna Coric have shared an unconditional relation on and off the court, but unfortunately, Schneider could not physically accompany Coric’s team for rest of the 2019 season due to some health problems and for the same reason, he couldn’t make his presence at the Indian Wells 2019.

Borna Coric revealed his profound devotion towards his mentor on the social network, and expressed, “I am really sad to announce that Kiki Schneider is not going to travel with me for the rest of this season due to some health issues. He is still a vital part of my team and hopefully next season he will come back and we will rock stronger than ever. We’ve known each other since I was a kid and Kiki was always there for me when I needed advice or help. In the last 15 months (or so) since we’ve been working together on a daily basis, he made a huge impact on my career and was a big part of the great season we’ve had. Stay strong my friend, see you in Zagreb.”
