Hopefully, at this year’s US Open a reunion of ‘Big Four’ of tennis at a Grand Slam will be seen after Australian Open 2019, where Andy Murray lost his opening round match to  Roberto Bautista Agut and that was his last singles match before his hip surgery. His surgery was career-threatening, but the Scotsman feels pain-free and ready to play his game.

At Citi Open 2019, he teamed up with his brother, Jamie Murray and lost in the second round. Over there, the Brit was optimistic about hitting the singles courts for the Western and Southern Open 2019 and now he has confirmed his presence in the singles discipline of the US Open Series.

“I’m closer than maybe I thought I was…the thing I’m sort of lacking, my cardio isn’t great right now. Now just not being in pain, it’s amazing what that will do to you. The Q I sort of ask, why not, why should I not being able to get back to where I was. There’s no good reason. It just takes time for muscles to recover,” Andy Murray said in Washington DC.
