Andy Roddick Comments on Serena Williams Comeback

American tennis player Serena Williams is a real inspiration for many in this sport. However, as she has grown older, her chances have lowered as far as competing in the Grand Slam events is concerned.

Recently, taking note of this, former tennis star Andy Roddick spoke about the situation of Serena Williams. He felt that her strengths were no longer as intimidating as they used to be. She is serving below par, which at one point was unreturnable.

The former tennis player stated, “The biggest question for me is can she train hard enough while maintaining health. I didn’t make it through 30 so I can’t imagine what 40 looks like with the training regiment of a world-class athlete.”

He continued, “If she can fix her serve and first-serve percentage. In the last couple of years, she has had more up and down days with her serve. The variance with the good days and the bad days with her serve is more severe.”

Roddick gave his example and mentioned that he found it a task to train during the 30’s so he can’t imagine how strenuous the ’40s must be for Serena. However, he was adamant that Williams should get her first serve in order.

The 39-year-old added, “If she can find a good rhythm with her serve, she still has a look at the basket, she can still get it done. I hope we see it, it’s highly unpredictable these days.”

Coming to tennis, Williams has not been seen since her Wimbledon exit. She skipped the US Open due to a hamstring injury. She was busy this past week as the movie King Richard which is based on her father released. And fans hope to see her come back stronger in the 2022 season.
