Sachin Tendulkar has been criticised for his statements on MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav after India won a nail-biting match against Afghanistan at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on Saturday at Southampton.

The Master-Blaster took a dig at MS Dhoni’s intent as India could manage a below-par score of 224 runs in the first innings.

Sachin Tendulkar questioned the middle-order after the slow batting display from MS Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav against the spinners as they could manage to score only 119 runs during the 34 overs of spinners.

He said “I felt slightly disappointed, it could have been much better. I was also not happy with the partnership between Kedar and Dhoni, it was very slow. We batted 34 overs of spin bowling and scored 119 runs. This was one area where we didn’t look comfortable at all. There was no positive intent.”

Sachin Tendulkar felt that MS Dhoni being the senior player should have stepped up during his 52 balls 28 runs innings. He said, “A senior player Dhoni should have taken charge as Jadhav’s batting was hardly tested in the tournament.”

Sachin Tendulkar further continued, “Kedar Jadhav was under pressure, he had not had an outing up until now. He needed someone to take charge of the situation early on but that did not happen. Both Kedar and Dhoni were not able to play at the required strike rate that they would have wanted.”

However, Sachin Tendulkar’s statement against the former Indian captain, MS Dhoni didn’t go down well with the Indian fans as they accused the Master Blaster of his comments.

The criticism against Sachin Tendulkar went ahead till the social media, especially Twitter where the fans trolled him ruthlessly and came out in full support for MS Dhoni. Soon after, a raging war began between the fans of the two players when the comparison between the two legends started to take place.
