During the 3rd Ashes test, an odd incident occurred, deep into the Australian innings. Apparently, an inflatable beachball found its way onto the pitch and was luckily picked up by security officials. However, England player Jofra Archer decided to step in, and what he did next, drove the fans wild.

The West-Indies born player took the massive inflatable ball, which resembled a watermelon, and bonked it back into the crowd. The ecstatic fans started chanting ‘Arise Sir Jofra.’

He missed the first test as he wasn’t fit enough to play against Australia. However, he recovered in time for his Test debut in the second match at Lord’s. His aggressive bowling made quite the impact on the Australians.

Though in Steve Smith’s case, quite literally, as the former Australia captain nearly got brained. As a result of a delayed concussion, Smith was forced to sit out of the second innings and next Test.

the star called Jofra Archer stayed up in the heavens as he bagged six wickets in the first innings in Leeds. In the process, he helped dismiss Australia for 179, though his side’s batting failed to finish the job. Rather embarrassingly, the side was skittled out for just 67 on a day that looked perfect for batting.

England’s top scorer was Joe Denly with a paltry 12 and the hosts lasted a mere 27.5 overs. Should England lose the third Test, which seems likely at the moment, then the Aussies would retain the Ashes, leading 2-0 in the series with two matches to play. At least Archer’s moment with the watermelon beach ball provided the home fans with something to cheer.
