Ashleigh Barty to Partner Reigning US Open Semifinalist at Australian Open 2021

In 2019, Australia’s Ashleigh Barty won her maiden grand slam, by winning at Roland Garros. In her career so far, there have been quite a few aspects that don’t go unnoticed. After the 2014 US Open, Barty announced that she was taking a break from professional tennis and took up cricket. She later said that she took time off from tennis because she felt toll from all the traveling at such a young age.
However, she did return back to professional tennis in 2016. In the following year, she won her first WTA title at the Malaysia Open, which helped her climb into the top 100 rankings. After having a successful season, Barty ended the season at a career-high ranking of being No. 17 in the world.
Ashleigh Barty: Thinking of Australian Open 2021 Makes Me Smile

Recently, talks doing the round were that the Australian can take part in the doubles at the first major of next year. She could partner former US Open semifinalist, Jennifer Brady. Not so long ago, Ashley had expressed her delight to be a part of the Australian Open 2021. She stated, “Already, thinking about the Australian Open in 2021 makes me smile. I can’t help but have a smile on my face – I have such great memories and I feel like I am at home. It’s incredible to get the love and support that I do and even though it may look different, we’ll wait and see, but I certainly can’t wait to get back out there.”
World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty has been at the top of the rankings since September 2019. She does have an impressive record in doubles too. She’s had a career-best ranking of No. 5 in the world. Barty has been a grand slam champion in doubles too, winning the US Open in 2018. She had partnered with Coco Vandeweghe. Ashleigh has also made it to the finals of the other three grand slams.
