ATP Cup 2020 Draw – Roger Federer and Andy Murray To Set up a Clash in Sydney

The ATP Cup 2020 draw has been unveiled with the first 18 teams (out of 24) divided into groups of six. The event will be taking place in three Australian cities, namely, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth two groups are assigned to each of the three host cities.

Serbia, France, and South Africa as placed in Group A. Spain, Japan, and Georgia are part of Group B. Switzerland, Belgium, Great Britain are in Group C. Russia, Italy and USA are in Group D. Austria, Croatia and Argentina are in Group E. Germany, Greek Canada, and Australia are part of Group F. Expect Group F, one more country will be added in each of the groups.

Novak Djokovic (Serbia) and Alexander Zverev (Germany) will play in Brisbane, Rafael Nadal (Spain) and Daniil Medvedev (Russia) will play in Perth and Roger Federer (Switzerland)  and Dominic Thiem (Austria) will play in Sydney.

ATP Cup 2020 – Interesting Matches

With Switzerland and Great Britain placed under the same group, the tennis fans would get to witness, Federer vs Murray action. Also, Federer vs Goffin, Thiem vs Coric and Thiem vs Schwartzman will take place in Sydney.

Nadal vs Nishikori and Medvedev vs Fognini/Berrettini will be taking place in Perth. Djokovic vs Monfils, Djokovic vs Anderson, Zverev vs Kyrgios, Zverev vs Tsitsipas, Zverev vs Felix, Kyrgios vs Tsitsipas, Kyrgios vs Felix and Felix vs Tsitsipas are some interesting matches in Brisbane.

The best team from each Group will advance to the quarterfinals and the remaining two second-best teams will also be part of the quarters. Following to that, regular knock-out rounds will be carried out. The matches will be best of three sets.

The countries are ranked according to their top-ranked singles player. Andy Murray qualifies for Great Britain by using his protected ranking of two and the UK is ranked number 18.

The ATP Cup 2020 is a 10-day event taking place from January 3 to January 12, 2020. The finals of the tournament will take place in Sydney, Australia.
