And now Paul has secured a seat for himself in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. And though his parents might not be sporting legends, they must be happy to see their kid performing his best on the court.

It was their idea to indulge Paul in tennis. And when he was 7, his parents motivated him to pursue the sport that had become his calling. The player then went on to achieve his career-high ranking of world no. 33. The player is from Greenville, North Carolina. He was brought up by his parents, along with two of his siblings, Dylan and Jessie Lynn, in North Carolina.

The parents of the player were long-term lovers, which eventually ended up in a beautiful marriage with three kids. The player has given tribute to his mother on multiple occasions. In 2017, he wished his mother a cheerful birthday with a happy picture of the two.

Apart from that, as a tennis tradition, the player was supposed to write down a message on the camera. After defeating top-tier Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz in the second round of the Canadian Open, he wrote a message to his mother. It stated, “Hey mum.” Later on, he explained that it was to draw her attention to his shaven face because his mother did not like his beard.

In the post-match interview, he stated that he would usually keep his beard until the end. However, “my mom has actually been on my a** about it. Last night, she was telling me to shave the beard, so I did it for her.” That is the kind of wholesome relationship he shares with her mother.

Apart from that, we also saw his stunning girlfriend Paige Lorenze supporting the player at the Australian Open.
