Novak Djokovic, the current World no.1, found himself tangled in an argument with the regulatory body of the Australian Open earlier this year. The Serb’s decision to stay unvaccinated not only made him miss almost the entire hard-court season but also acted as a platform for people to point fingers at him.

Further apart from that, being a subject to someone’s random anger is normal for players like him these days. As now social media gives the power to people to voice their opinion on anything and everything, sometimes it can all get a bit ugly. Recently, Djokovic spoke about the same and shared how he handles such issues.

Novak Djokovic weighs in

When asked how to handle social media abuse. The 20 times Grand Slam champion had rather simple answers. As he said, “It’s up to individual to use and control the time you spend online. It comes down do that.”

Thereafter, he shared his concern about how problematic such things are going to be for the upcoming generation. “It’s about trying to work with a young person to help them navigate. I’ve talked with my wife as well, that period is coming for our kids.” Djokovic said.

Who is Djokovic’s next opponent?

Djokovic will lock horns with the Slovenian tennis professional Aljaz Bedene in the third round of the French Open. The 32-year-old has not left his mark on any of the clay-based tournaments this season. However, Bedene has reached the third round of the Roland Garros, and can pose a threat to Djokovic.

Though the Serbian legend has faced Bedene three times earlier and has a lead of 3-0 in head-to-head records. Speaking of clay, Djokovic has met him twice, first in 2016 at French Open and the second time in 2017 at Rome. Therefore, if we go by the records, the upcoming match should be a cakewalk for World No.1.
