Rafael Nadal, the Spanish tennis legend, claimed his 14th French Open title and silenced the rumors of his retirement a week ago. However, he also clarified that his fate on the tour depends on the treatment of his foot issue. The announcement in turn brought a variety of questions that Nadal himself wasn’t able to answer.
Though recently, the lingering questions regarding his presence at Wimbledon were slowly being answered. Nadal has started practicing on the grass. Hence, the chances of the Spaniard competing in the upcoming Grand Slam signficantly increases.

Rafael Nadal is gearing up for London
Nadal underwent a procedure in search of a permanent cure for his pestering foot injury. After securing his 22nd Grand Slam title, he opted for medical help and recently turned up for a practice session. On Monday, Nadal took his first step towards the grass season and entered the practice grounds of the Mallorca Championships. He is hoping to sharpen his skills for the Wimbledon Championship by playing in the ATP 250 event.

Further, about the 36-year-old’s injury, the statement on the process for his return stipulated “three or four days with normal maintenance physical activity. Depending on the evolution of the treatment and as long as it is positive, he would resume training on the track.”

And after suffering a quarterfinals exit in Madrid and fourth round exit in Rome, Nadal clinched the title at the French Open in dominating fashion. Thus, taking a lead of two Grand Slams over his great rivals, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
