World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has finally declared his participation at the Australian Open 2022. He stated that he has received a medical exemption to compete at the first Grand Slam of the year through an Instagram post. Amidst the chaos, the Argentinian Diego Schwartzman has urged fans not to create havoc about the situation.

As soon as Djokovic communicated the information, tennis fans across the world expressed their mixed reactions. While some were relieved to learn that Djokovic will be competing in the Happy Slam, others demanded an explanation from the World No. 1 himself.

Diego Schwartzman doesn’t want any controversy around Novak Djokovic

The word is out – Novak Djokovic will be playing at the Australian Open 2022. Just yesterday, the news broke out, and with that positive and negative opinions have come out. However, the World No. 13 Diego Schwartzman is advising fans not to get involved in any kind of controversy.

” The organization spoke, Novak spoke and more will be said in the coming days. You, the journalists, will seek more information about it. Getting into more controversy does not make sense. We came here to play, we are vaccinated and we are going to play in Australia,” he said.

The Argentinian has been vaccinated and is looking forward to competing at the Australian Open. Schwartzman is currently competing at the ATP Cup representing his country. So far, he has grabbed two out of three wins in the group stages.

Now, World No.1  has a golden opportunity to register a record-breaking 21st Grand Slam title of his career at the Happy Slam. If it happens, Djokovic will surpass Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the most number of Grand Slam titles.
