Nick Kyrgios seldom fails to entertain on the tennis court. The Australian tennis star boasts a huge amount of talent and often steps up his game at crucial moments. The 27-year-old has had a memorable 2022 season. Earlier this year, he won the Australian Open men’s doubles title with his partner Thanasi Kokkinakis. Subsequently, he put up a decent show in the hard-court tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami.

Earlier this week, American tennis legend, Serena Williams announced her much-awaited comeback. The tennis fraternity was thrilled with this news, with fellow players wishing her luck ahead of her return. Recently, Kyrgios also spoke about Serena’s comeback.

The Australian tennis star is in Germany to participate in the Terra Wortmann Open. During a post-match press conference, an interviewer asked him to comment about Serena’s return to tennis. He said, “I think humans always take athletes for granted you know.”

Further, he went on to add, Roger, Rafa, Novak, LeBron, Serena like these athletes are so, they’re so rare like they’re just amazing and I think we should just as long as they want to keep playing, we just got to keep taking it in and enjoying that because the time’s nearly up for all these players. So, it’s amazing to see her (Serena) playing again and you know, playing at the biggest tournament in the world, it’s amazing.”

Serena has received a wildcard entry into the singles competition at Wimbledon. Before the grass-court Grand Slam tournament, the former World Number 1 will team up with Ons Jabeur of Tunisia to play doubles at Eastbourne International.

Kyrgios upsets Stefanos Tsitsipas in Halle

Yesterday, the reigning Australian Open men’s doubles champion knocked out the second seed, Stefanos Tsitsipas, in the second round of the ATP 500 Terra Wortmann Open. In a match lasting just over two hours, Kyrgios got the better of his opponent from Greece in three sets 5-7, 6-2, 6-4.
