Tomic reacted to Kyrgios’ comments, saying, “At the end of the day, talk is cheap. I’m ready to make it 2-0 whenever you want. Put your money where your mouth is. Let the public decide who is better. I’ll beat you anywhere, any place. If not, shut your mouth and go back to playing doubles.”
The two have played against each other just once in their career. It was an exhibition match at the Kooyong Classic in 2019, where Tomic defeated Kyrgios in straight sets 6-3, 6-4. The match had a hilarious ending, with Tomic serving an ace with an underarm serve at match point.
