Big Three’s Performance

The trio of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal, are on the top of the list, staying true to their legendary status.

In 2006, Roger Federer won three Grand Slams, year-ending Finals, and five Master 1000 titles. Federer won the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open and also was runner-up at the French Open, losing to Rafael Nadal in the final.

Novak Djokovic achieved his Career Slam when he won Roland Garros in 2016. In the period from July 2015 to June 2016, the Serb won all the four Majors. He defeated Federer in the finals to win Wimbledon and US Open in 2015. Djokovic beat Andy Murray in the finals at the Australian Open and French Open to complete his career slam and in the process, held all the Majors simultaneously. During this period, Djokovic also won five Masters 1000 titles alongside winning Nitto ATP Finals in 2015. The Serb triumphed in Shanghai and Paris in 2015 and won in Indian Wells, Miami, and Madrid to cap off an incredible 12-moth period on the tour.

Rafael Nadal had his best 12 months in 2008 – 2009. Nadal won the French Open and Wimbledon in 2008 alongside winning the Olympic gold medal at the Beijing Olympics. He won his first hard-court Major when he won the Australian Open in 2009, beating Roger Federer in a five-set epic final.
