Roger Federer Feels He Plays Better Now Than When Was ’20 Years Old’

Former world number one and twenty-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer is all set to make a return to competitive tennis as he prepares to play at the Geneva Open, which starts on May 16.

The Swiss star made his comeback at the Qatar Open earlier this year and defeated Dan Evans in three sets. However, he fell prey to Nikoloz Basilashvili in the quarter-finals. Federer has stated that the tournaments he plays until Wimbledon are just so that he can have more matches to play. His main goal is to succeed at the Wimbledon Championships and the Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

Talking about his recovery post a dual-surgery in 2020, Federer expressed that he feels like a young player who wants to compete again.

“2021 is going to be an exciting year because normality is getting closer, although it is being very hard because of the virus. I really can’t wait any longer to play matches,” Federer mentioned.
