Rafael Nadal is one of the modern-day legends of tennis. The 35-year-old is currently leading the chart of the highest number of Grand slams with 21 titles to his name. The Spaniard is in constant competition with Novak Djokovic of Serbia and Swiss legend Roger Federer. However, the meteoric rise of young sensation Carlos Alcaraz from his own country has also intensified the competition for the upcoming French Open.

To prepare for the mega-event and get practice on clay court, Nadal played the Madrid Open. However, the 35-year-old was looking good to win the title but lost to fellow Spaniard Alcaraz.

Further, Nadal took part in the Italian Open to continue his campaign on clay. It was here where his fans got a little heartbreak as the 21-time Grand Slam winner lost to the 23-year-old Denis Shapovalov. Although, more than the loss itself, the concern that worried his fans was his foot injury, which could have sidelined him from the upcoming Roland Garros.

Notably, the foot issue is not new for Nadal as it was the main reason for him to miss out on a major chunk of last season. However, the champion player had returned in style to win the Australian Open at the start of this year. Although Nadal fans were tensed about his participation in the French Open, Nadal has announced good news which will definitely cheer them up.
