Rafael Nadal has scripted more history after claiming an unbelievable 14th Roland Garros title in Paris two weeks ago. With the win, the Spaniard stands alone on top with 22 Grand Slam wins in a remarkable career.
The Spaniard has won every honor in tennis from reaching the World No. 1 ranking to winning the Davis Cup with his native Spain. At 36, Nadal doesn’t look like he’ll be slowing down anytime soon.

Rafael Nadal receives rare honor from Spanish government
The 36-year old has been sensational over the years culminating in one of the greatest careers of all-time. With the win in Paris, the Spanish government has now decided to award Nadal with the Grand Cross of Naval Merit. In an official statement, it reads, “For his extraordinary sports career, for his values on and off the fields.”(translated)

“For the affection he has shown to the Spanish Army forces, @RafaelNadal he has been distinguished with the great cross of naval merit at the proposal of the minister.” Nadal becomes the second civilian in history to be given the prestigious award.
