Former world no.3 Stan Wawrinka recently returned to tennis at the Marbella challenger after a long layoff due to a foot injury. However, he had to wait for a while to get his first victory. Last week, he won his first match in 456 days against Reilly Opelka at the Italian Open. After winning that match, he became quite emotional as he thanked the Rome crowd and his fans for always supporting him.
However, he suffered a heavy defeat against Novak Djokovic in the round of 16. Despite that, he was hopeful of playing in the Roland Garros. Now, according to recent reports, things are not looking good for the Swiss player, as he missed his practice sessions today.
