“Takes a Couple of Weeks to be Pain Free”: Dominic Thiem Gives His Injury Update Ahead of French Open 2021

World No.4 Dominic Thiem hasn’t got a great start in the 2021 tennis season. He currently has a 5-4 win-loss record and is yet to win a title in the year. The Austrian player last played at the Dubai Tennis Championships 2021, where he suffered a humiliating defeat against Lloyd Harris in the very first round.

After the ATP Dubai 2021, Dominic Thiem had to deal with an injury. As a result, he missed the Monte Carlo Masters 2021 and the Serbian Open 2021 as well. He hasn’t played a single tournament on clay so far, which is definitely a big setback for him.

In a recent interview, Thiem gave an update about his injury. He mentioned still having some problems with his left knee at the moment.

“There are little problems, now it’s the left knee. Last year, during the first lockdown, I had the same thing in my right knee. “It’s a congenital crease in your knees that comes up now and then. Now the public is just getting it. It takes a couple of weeks to be pain free. I’ve been plagued by it since Australia, but it’s just a little ailment that heals up again,” added the US Open 2020 winner.
